Please join us in welcoming Barbara Pedersen, the 2025–2026 National President of the American Business Women’s Association. A dynamic and purpose-driven leader, Barbara has spent more than two decades empowering women to grow, lead, and succeed in every stage of their professional journey. Her story—from discovering accounting as a teenager on a U.S. Army base to becoming a national voice for women in business—reflects resilience, faith, and the belief that leadership is most powerful when it lifts others along the way.
The American Business Women’s Association proudly celebrates Barbara’s visionary leadership and long-standing dedication to advancing women in business. A proud member of the Heart of the Piedmont Chapter in Greensboro, North Carolina, she has grown from an engaged local leader into a national influencer, serving two terms as District IV Vice President, then as the 2024–2025 National Secretary-Treasurer, and now as National President.
Education and empowerment are central to Barbara’s purpose. As a trustee for the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund, she helps women nationwide achieve their goals through scholarships and grants. Her spirit of service extends to organizations such as Be the Match and the American Red Cross, where she volunteers in disaster relief and advocates for donor awareness.
Professionally, Barbara’s experience spans government, corporate, and public accounting. She is an Independent Scentsy Consultant, a member of the Maxwell Leadership Certified Team, and the founder of a new bookkeeping business that reflects her lifelong commitment to stewardship, integrity, and mentorship.
Guided by faith, family, and her ABWA sisters, Barbara leads with authenticity and compassion—championing a future where every woman sees herself as a leader, equipped to succeed and supported by a community that believes in her potential.
